Healthcare professionals are meant to be open and transparent about conflicts of interest. For example, if a doctor was asked to decide on a new scanner for the hospital but had shares in one of the companies making them, it would be a conflict. Professionals who are trying to be open about their interests can be asked to declare them many times and in different places. But we don’t know how useful and accessible these are.

Why we need you

We would like to have your opinions on what kinds of declarations matter.

We would like to ask you to search for a doctor’s declaration of interest online, and tell us what you find.

We think this will take between 10-20 minutes.

We will also ask if you would agree to be interviewed in greater depth at a later date, online. All of this is voluntary and can all be done at a time to suit you.
